Why Do I Not Feel Bench Press In My Chest? [Solved]
Alright, when you lower the bar, arch your back and pull your shoulders down and back. That’ll help you focus on pushing with your chest muscles. And that’s how you’ll really feel the bench press in your chest!
Grip: Make sure to grip the barbell firmly with your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
Setup: Position yourself on the bench with your feet flat on the floor and your back flat against the bench.
Unrack: Lift the barbell off of the rack and hold it above your chest with straight arms, keeping a slight bend in your elbows to avoid locking them out completely.
Lower: Slowly lower the barbell down towards your chest, keeping it close to you as you do so and maintaining control of it throughout its descent.
Push: Once you reach chest level, drive through your heels and press up explosively until you have locked out at full extension again at the top of the movement, squeezing your chest muscles as you do so for maximum benefit from each rep!
I’m feelin’ the burn with this bench press! My chest is really gettin’ a workout. I can already tell it’s gonna be sore tomorrow, but it’s worth it. Whoa, that was a tough set!
